Nature And Landscape
WRT plans to transform the Natural Heritage of the rivers flowing into Plymouth Sound. To achieve this transformation, we need a large-scale NLHF project to restore and protect the struggling natural heritage of the rivers Lynher, Tavy, Tamar, Plym and Yealm. We want to reverse the decline of the Atlantic Salmon and Allis Shad and reverse the decline of the ecology on which they depend. We will co-create a supportive cultural heritage environment for the natural environment, thereby creating a mutually supportive whole. However, this is no small challenge, and if we want to succeed, we must prepare the ground for success through this smaller, stand-alone project. This project will carry out the essential partnership development and widespread engagement needed to prepare ourselves to achieve Sound Rivers, whilst delivering intrinsically valuable outputs in their own right. This will expand our partnerships and engage with communities that have been previously under-represented.
