Sowing Seeds – a Healthy Future for People and Nature at East Shallowford Farm

The Shallowford Trust will protect and improve some of the rarest and most endangered habitats in the UK, Rhos pasture and wet woodlands, and the butterflies, moths and birds that are critically endangered from loss of this habitat. We will work on a landscape scale with farmers and landowners in central Dartmoor to benefit nature in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. We will create and support volunteering opportunities for conservation work, events and activities. We will welcome more young people from cities and towns to experience our dark skies, historic farmland landscape and the natural world. Young people who have never seen a farm or visited the countryside will help us to grow, plant and nurture the environment, benefitting their wellbeing. In our 50th year, we will share our engagement expertise with nature organisations, farmers and landowners, to ensure that Dartmoor is for everyone.
