Project Title: "Standing Firm in Power and Pride: Celebrating Black Heritage and Community Futures" Project Summary Holding Hands CIC proposes a dynamic, community-led heritage programme to mark Black History Month 2025, under the theme "Standing Firm in Power and Pride". This project will explore, preserve, and celebrate the historical and contemporary contributions of Black British and African diaspora communities in the North East of England. The project aims to promote pride, understanding, and community cohesion through: • Oral history recording sessions with elders • Youth-led heritage workshops • Storytelling, fashion, food and dance showcases • Panel talks and integration roundtables • An intergenerational heritage exhibition Project Objectives To preserve and document the untold heritage of Black communities in the North East, Empower youth as cultural narrators and community historians. Foster integration through storytelling and cultural exchange. Celebrate Black excellence and intergenerational achievements and promote inclusion and understanding across diverse communities.
