Stockton and Darlington Railway - Trail of Discovery

We will work with the community & University to deliver accessible digital wayfinding & interpretation within an interactive game ensuring locals, national and international visitors will gain an increased understanding of the unique history and stories along the 26 miles of the S&DR route in a playful accessible manner. Visitors accessing any part of the route, in person or digitally, will learn about the people, processes, innovation and the impact of this unique heritage. Through the use of a game, this will be brought to the attention of a more diverse audience, engaging a younger generation and those for whom access is difficult. This heritage, which is at risk of being forgotten, will be brought to life through a combination of physical and digital interpretation, helping it to once again be part of the proud history of the communities that live around it and a catalyst to placemaking.
