Stour Valley Restore

Stour Valley Restore will bring positive change to one of south-east England’s most remarkable, overlooked and at-risk landscapes through nature recovery, climate adaptation and community collaboration. We will restore chalk streams, designated wetlands and ancient woodlands, rebuild ecological connectivity, increase public water literacy, and protect priority species including turtle doves and urban beavers, in partnership with communities. We’ll reveal this landscape’s unique role as an ancient gateway shaping Britain’s identity, and include a diversity of people in bringing change for heritage. We’ll introduce people to the landscape and take the landscape to people, co-creating art and digital content, embedding new skills, and telling stories from the past. Boosting active travel and improving accessibility will enhance health and wellbeing, and open the landscape to more people. Finally, we’ll embed a legacy of partnership, innovation and community activation, paving the way for a Stour Valley Regional Park.
