Tales from the Tunnels

Our project will bring heritage & arts together through a innovative blend of a truly unique space, Stockport Air Raid tunnels, and our own style of non-verbal, puppetry theatre. We will weave together local history with a bespoke series of performances that will take place throughout the tunnels. We will reach new audiences, support staff professional development & create a new relationship with Stockport Museums. We will work alongside the museum to engage children & young people who are physically disabled, neurodiverse & have other additional needs as this audience does not currently visit this space. Workshops & open sessions will take place both at the museum & in community spaces to engage with new & existing audiences, raising awareness of Stockport Air Raid tunnels, local history & other heritage spaces in Stockport. Performances will take place for school & public audiences over May 2025.
