Culture And Memory

Test Card

Test Card - History of British television seen through a diverse lens. Forgotten and under-acknowledged people of colour (POC) have impacted British heritage through television on and off screen. As the end of the terrestrial era draws close Oral histories will be captured before they are lost forever. Historical accuracy is assured through partnerships with Channel 4, BFI, Creative Diversity network, Directors UK, Rising Waves and Film and TV Charity. Heritage is strengthened through digital and in person work sharing 30 portraits and 15 first person podcasts, stored on MoC’s accessible digital museum. Heritage is shared through three intergenerational topical discussions, the narrative that accompanies the portraits and a co-created quiz. Organisational resilience is built by digital up-skilling, increasing capacity and embracing sustainability. Contributing to the UK’s national heritage story of community cohesion by uncovering undocumented contributions and restoring forgotten representations of our rich cultural diversity to the public eye.
