Culture And Memory
We would like to further develop our Visitor Centre as an exhibition space wherein a diverse range of visitors can explore differing perspectives on the NI ‘Troubles’ in a safe conducive environment. Our primary objective is to introduce visitors to new stories and lived experiences from our past in a manner that understands and respects there are multiple narratives and that none should have any precedent or dominance over the others. In doing so, we aim to build on what we have already established, supported by a range of other funders, by being proactive with an outreach programme of engagement to enlist new audiences, both local and global. Our proposal aims to enhance our existing Visitor Centre with the design of a new exhibition, modernise some of the building structure, (entrance hallway and frontage), contribute 50% to a Project Director salary and employ a part-time outreach worker.
