The African Root's Project

Following our consultation and feedback meeting with our community and local residents we have been informed that the need for developing further understanding of African culture and heritage is needed not only to preserve West African heritage but also to educate the local community through schools and colleges regarding the growing number of African communities now residing in Tameside, improving our local cause of developing community cohesion and local social impact. We would like to develop a series of events/activities/workshops over the course of 2 years that will provide the much needed knowledge and information to develop inclusion, improved access to African heritage and improve participation from the wider community. As part of this programme we would like to ensure development opportunities that would enable us to sustain our project ongoing in the future preserving our African heritage for the future.
