Based on the Belper Night-Watchmen Reports (1833-36), held at Derbyshire County Records Office, we would like to create an event at Strutts Community Centre in Belper for the Halloween weekend October 30th& 31st 2026. Audiences will experience characters and events drawn from the Night-Watchmen Reports, portrayed by local participants from Belper and the surrounding area. The event will be presented in the style of a "ghost walk". It will be an immersive, promenade experience, utilising both indoor and outdoor spaces at this historic venue. The legacy of the project is to introduce both audiences and participants to the Reports, engaging people with this unique part of local heritage in an entertaining and informative way. It will also highlight Strutts Community Centre as a significant way local people can engage with their heritage. Also a digital copy of the event which will be available online and archived alongside the Reports.
