The Big Rock Pool Challenge
Our vision is to establish the inaugural Big Rock Pool Challenge, a nationwide network of volunteer-led monthly community wildlife events. At the heart of this initiative is the 'Bioblitz Battle,' a highly engaging team game where participants compete to uncover the most exceptional rock pool species within a set time period. These events unite communities, facilitate ongoing learning and togetherness, and improve individual health and wellbeing. The data collected will support wildlife management and conservation efforts in the UK and globally. This project's first phase focuses initially on infrastructure development within our two editing hubs in Falmouth and Plymouth and then expands to three new locations within South West . By engaging with local communities and promoting scientific exploration, we aim to create a sustainable network of healthy, well connected marine conservationists across the South West.
