'The Eyes and Ears of the RAF': Commemorating the Royal Observer Corps and its formation in 1925.

Our 'Eyes and Ears of the RAF' project will commemorate 100 years since the formation of the Royal Observer Corps (ROC) - a vital civil defence organisation - in October 1925, through: * Training and supporting 10-12 project volunteers to undertake oral history interviews (film and audio) of 15-20 former ROC personnel, who served across the UK between the 1950s and 1990s * Training and supporting 10-12 project volunteers to co-curate a temporary exhibition, sharing the oral histories and loaned ROC artefacts * Creating a short film of the oral histories - shown in the temporary exhibition and then embedded in the Museum's permanent galleries as a project legacy * Creating new resources for Scouts to engage young people with the ROC's heritage, supporting the 'Air Spotters' and 'Air Researcher' Badges * Creating family activities during the summer and October half-term School holidays to engage young people and their families
