Culture And Memory
Our project will explore the heritage of Katherine Low Settlement, a much-loved, busy charity that has been working for a century at the heart of the community in Battersea to reduce poverty and isolation in an area which retains pockets of real deprivation amid intense regeneration. In our centenary year, we would like to capture a century of stories on film to create a visual and oral history archive, working with Digital-Works, a charity who produce heritage projects focusing on communities. We will host a launch screening at a local landmark venue and run a series of events throughout the borough to promote the work. The project’s legacy: oral histories of 20 local people 12 volunteers develop heritage skills archivist’s appraisal report and digital scoping report
