Culture And Memory
The Old Church Centre opened in 2019 to provide a dedicated Heritage, Arts, and Community space for Cushendun and the wider area. It has exceeded all expectations hosting a varied programme of over 140 events in the last two years alone, all volunteer led. Heritage has always been at the forefront of our vision, and this project will enable us to do so much more to identify, document and showcase the story of the Mid-Glens. A dedicated heritage officer will support us in creating a lasting and accessible heritage resource bank, expanded digital and physical archives, and strengthened community engagement and long-term partnerships. The Old Church Centre will become firmly established as the area’s heritage hub, a place where everyone can learn about and enjoy our unique heritage for years to come.
