The Stories We Weave

The Stories We Weave marks 20 years since the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS (NUH) Trust was formed. The project is formed of three strands in order to achieve our aims: Collecting Oral Histories from staff of their experiences of the Trust over the past 20 years - promoting wellbeing, belonging and creating opportunity for a human-centred space, where professional hierarchies fall away and everyone’s stories hold equal value. Textile Participatory Sessions using one of every existing uniform to create lasting artworks that sit across the four Trust sites, preserving the material identity of the Trust that will soon be lost through nationalisation of uniforms. Exhibiting and Archiving, in partnership with the University of Nottingham’s Manuscripts and Special Collections team (M&SC). Audio clips of collected stories and artworks will be exhibited across the Trust giving staff, patients and visitors multiple ways to engage with our 20-year history.
