Culture And Memory
The Percival Guildhouse is an Independent Centre for Adult Education and the Arts, open to all people over the age of eighteen in Rugby and the surrounding areas. It has run as a non-vocational adult education centre in Rugby for 100 years as of 2025. The main aim of this project is to preserve the archive which has been collected over these 100 years, digitise the oldest and most fragile content, and catalogue and preserve the archive so that this legacy is saved for posterity. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, we aim to help people engage with and learn about the unique heritage of the Guildhouse and the contributions it has made to the local community and the wider history of adult education in this country. This will be done through a series of events, including an exhibition of our archives at the Rugby Museum and Gallery.
