Culture And Memory
NET100; A Centenary in Motion England Netball’s Centenary project will preserve, celebrate, and share 100 years of netball’s heritage, ensuring that the stories, people, and communities who shaped the sport are recognised and protected for future generations. Through building a professionally managed archive, training volunteers, and creating digital and physical resources, we aim to make netball’s history accessible to everyone—fans, players, researchers, and communities nationwide. The project will spark national pride and participation through exhibitions, roadshows, and the “100 Days of Netball” programme, bringing heritage to life across all nine Regions. By empowering clubs and volunteers with heritage skills and toolkits, we will create a culture of ongoing preservation beyond 2026. Today’s event is tomorrow’s history. Our legacy will be sustainable, community-driven heritage ecosystem: a permanent digital home for netball’s history, strengthened volunteer expertise, and more inclusive understanding of the sport’s past—shaping and inspiring its next hundred years.
