Together Apart: Voices from East London's COVID-19 Experience

We aim to create a comprehensive oral history archive documenting East London residents' lived experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through professionally conducted interviews with diverse community members, we will preserve personal testimonies of bereavement, resilience, mutual aid, and isolation. These audio-visual recordings, alongside contributed photographs and documents, will be meticulously transcribed, catalogued, and preserved to archival standards. Our goal is to establish an accessible digital platform enabling researchers, educators, and the public to engage with authentic community narratives of pandemic response. We will produce a commemorative publication featuring selected testimonies as a lasting memorial, alongside educational resources highlighting themes of community solidarity and grassroots resilience. This archive will serve as both a tribute to those affected and a vital resource for understanding how communities mobilize during crisis, ensuring these crucial stories are preserved for future generations and informing community responses to future public health challenges.
