Untold Deaf Stories - Northern Ireland
An online video library in BSL and ISL reflecting Deaf perspectives and living memories on life in Northern Ireland, the Deaf community and its changes, the two sign languages, Northern Ireland's recent history, Deaf schools and the different experiences of Deaf men and women. To increase Deaf understanding of heritage and its relevance; to capture Deaf expressions before they disappear or change; to provide a permanent record of current BSL and ISL; to educate, inform and increase awareness within and without the Deaf community; to add to records of Northern Ireland's heritage by ensuring the inclusion of Deaf people; to encourage dialogue between sign language communities and generations.
