Nature And Landscape

Urban Green Links: Innovating Collaboration for Greenspace Networks

Our urban natural spaces - parks, rivers, woodlands, and community gardens - provide vital benefits for people, nature and climate. They enhance health and wellbeing, address the nature crisis and play a key role in climate change adaptation and mitigation. Urban Green Links focuses on Collaboration, Communication, and Cultivation, building the knowledge and capability of organisations across Scotland to create, improve and maintain high-quality urban greenspaces that are nature-rich and climate-friendly. The project aims to: Increase understanding of the value and benefit of greenspaces. Strengthen peer to peer collaboration between greenspace professionals and those responsible for creating, improving and maintaining greenspace. Advance greenspace practices to benefit people, nature and climate. Enhance recognition of the valuable role played by professionals involved in managing and improving greenspace. Urban Green Links envisions a legacy of stronger professional networks, a shift in greenspace development and maintenance, and lasting community and environmental benefits across Scotland.
