The National Literacy Trust will leverage our expertise in community engagement to empower individuals in Caerphilly, Torfaen, and Newport who are excluded from the Chartist movement's rich history to engage with their local heritage. To do this, we will: -Deliver creative writing workshops where participants will create and share their own poetry inspired by Chartism, to ensure marginalised voices are heard. -Provide a platform for participants’ voices to be recognised through a published anthology of work. -Co-create new digital engagement tools and resources in English and Welsh to increase accessibility to Chartist heritage. -Recruit and train local heritage volunteers to develop new skills in community engagement and heritage interpretation. -Establish a new partnership network with local heritage organisations to reach and engage new communities with Chartist heritage. We will share knowledge and resources to ensure that the community voice is included in heritage engagement practices in the future.
