Voices from Skelmersdale captures community heritage through storytelling, podcasts, photography, and youth perspectives. Stories of Change engages older adults sharing lived experience. Skem Life Podcasts empowers adults with additional needs to produce community-focused archives, building skills and confidence. Through the Heritage Lens explores local heritage via photography, teaching traditional techniques in a community setting. Today Meets Tomorrow involves young people reflecting on their hopes and fears for the future of Skelmersdale, creating a unique intergenerational narrative that connects past, present, and future. A Stitch in Time is sewing activity for older people. Individuals will work on materials which will represent heritage. We will engage 765 individuals, reach over 20,000 people, provide in kind funding £1 for £1 with Heritage Lottery and capture, share and promote pride in our heritage. Groups we are working with include Archive Lancashire, West Lancashire College, Skelmersdale Library, Your Housing Group and Concourse Shopping Centre.
