Nature And Landscape

Walking and Talking with Landscape: The Curlew Way

To reimagine Lancashire as a place with rich cultures of walking/talking, promote symbiotic relationships with environment, preserving, enriching natural heritage. Symbolically and practically, to focus on relationships with Curlew populations as representations of a natural heritage that is in danger of disappearing along with local people’s connection with land they call their home. We will introduce broad audiences to the benefits of natural history through creative arts, connecting farming and student communities towards a common goal. We will create opportunities for communities to connect with each other and with nature, learn about environment and local ecosystems, and gain deeper appreciation of the natural world and its relationship to new methods of sustainable farming where relationships with the environment are key. We will produce artworks by pupils and publicly exhibit in Preston's iconic PR1 Gallery, raising awareness of the plight of the endangered Curlew bird. To prepare for stage two.
