Weaving Stories

This exciting project will place Bradford Cathedral at the heart of UK City of Culture delivery, reducing barriers for, and documenting the diverse heritages of some of Bradford’s least engaged communities. Through a loom installation in the Cathedral, local communities will co-create a stunning new tapestry that tells the rich shared stories of the wool trade that are embedded in Bradford’s diverse, global communities. The project will both protect these heritage stories, and support communities to develop new skills in an at-risk heritage art form. It will enable and encourage new communities to enter one of Bradford’s most important heritage spaces, creating new, long-lasting relationships.
