What Makes Us Well?

'What Makes Us Well?' is a project with Surrey History Centre. It will celebrate the heritage of people in Surrey and how they have kept themselves well. It will act as a catalyst to increase engagement with heritage, particularly for people in our community currently under-served by heritage. It'll enable more peoples' heritage to be recognised and cared for. We'll explore how the places and nature of Surrey contributes to well-being, comparing then and now, reaching over 46,500 people. We'll showcase what we find through a programme of workshops, a co-created exhibition, a film, book, open call and a digital legacy and wellness guide that makes heritage more accessible and preserves it for future generations. The project will be driven by our community partners, halow, a charity supporting young adults with learning disabilities and autism to lead independent lives, Woking Youth Clubs and the Surrey Gypsy Traveller Communities Forum.
