Culture And Memory
Conducting research and oral history interviews, we’ll create an archive around responses to food poverty between 1870 and the present day in East London. We’ll share this heritage with the public through an exhibition, six-part podcast series and social media campaign. Instead of a standard report, will disseminate the findings of our research in a cook book. Stories from the past will be interspersed with recipes from food bank users. This will challenge stereotypes about those in poverty not knowing how to cook, and make the heritage accessible to a wider group of people.
