Woods and Trees are for Everyone – Diversifying Volunteering at The Woodland Trust

Our vision is to build a more diverse, flexible, and active volunteering force embedded throughout the Woodland Trust (WT). We will provide opportunities that support our organisational vision of a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature. We will transform the way we support our volunteers, creating roles that enrich lives and connect with communities throughout the UK. The natural and cultural heritage of the UK will be more widely understood, valued and championed by individuals and groups. Barriers to participation and inclusion, particularly for young people (aged 16-25 years) and BAME communities, are identified and overcome so that opportunities are more inclusive. Our volunteer profile is broadened to better reflect the diversity of our beneficiaries, and our charity is enhanced by more diverse voices and supporters.
